In December, Pismo Beach’s high temperatures typically do not rise above the 66-degree mark and hardly ever fall below 54 degrees. This makes for fabulous outdoor weather and a great time of the year to take advantage of some of the many Pismo Beach events that are taking place.
Holiday Harmony
On Friday, December 2nd, 2022, Pismo Beach is hosting its Holiday Harmony event. It’s the perfect event if you have small children. Sponsored by the City of Pismo Beach Recreation Division, some of the activities that will be available are crafts, cookie decorating, bounce houses, music, and a snow area. Yes, you can have snow on the beach! Santa Claus will be there to make an appearance for some pictures! They are also offering free goodie bags to 250 of the first kiddos that arrive. The main activity at this event is their tree-lighting ceremony. The event takes place from 5:30-7:30 with the tree-lighting ceremony at 6:00 p.m. Best of all, it’s free! If you get hungry, there will be food and drinks available for purchase. Start your holiday season right at the Holiday Harmony event!
Holiday Extravaganza
The Holiday Extravaganza is another family-friendly event happening in Pismo Beach this year. It is a theater experience that occurs from November 17th to December 31st, 2022. The theatrical production will tell the tale of A Christmas Carol and will follow that with a unique and funky opera satire with a fairytale theme. There will also be more traditional Christmas music and tales performed in the pantomime style. The show will end with a Vaudeville performance. This is a great event for kids and it’s a great way to experience tradition in a new way.
Santa’s Pop-Up Reindeer Farm
What are the holidays without Santa and his Reindeer? Imagine your kiddos having the opportunity to say they got to hang out with two of Santa’s reindeer in real life! It’s a memory that will be sealed in their minds, and yours, forever. The Charles Paddock Zoo is hosting this event where two reindeer will be available for photos. You can also feed them if you like as well. This kid-friendly event will take place from December 10th through the 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Don’t miss this opportunity to see behind-the-scenes of Christmas magic firsthand, and while you’re there, check out the rest of the zoo!

The Lighted Boat Parade
This last event is something a bit more unique when it comes to Christmas light displays. Experience the Morro Bay Lighted Boat Parade! Hosted by the Rotary Club, this event displays many types of boats decked out in their most dazzling holiday lights displays.
There will be yachts, sailboats, kayaks, and more with their best holiday light outfits. The Parade will take place December 3rd at 6:30pm. These beautiful light displays will create lasting memories for you as you experience Pismo Beach with your family this holiday season.
